it’s raining. which is GREAT. we need the rain like bread needs butter. i love going out in the rain for walks. but i also love to post up at home and start projects.
so here’s a little peek at some of the projects i started, aside from the pillow cases cause they’re done.
i started a lap quilt. i’m using instructions from one of my favorite (ok, and one of the only) sewing books, Bend the Rules Sewing by Amy Karol. this is a great book. i highly recommend this book for anyone just starting out sewing and wanting some simple easy project ideas. i went to michael levine’s (they’re having a great sale right now) with abbe, she has a great eye and impeccable taste, and picked out six great fabrics. three solids and three print.

i also have a bunch of dried lavender from our yard that i’ve been meaning to do something with. so i thought i’d make some smelly satchels. i bought a beautiful blouse at a thrift store a few months ago. but got it home and tried it on only to find that it was huge on me. there’s some great lace and pretty embroidery on it that i thought might make a pretty satchel.
