This past weekend, Abbe and I drove up to San Francisco for a Girl’s Weekend. We had a great time. It really was the quintessential girlie weekend (we sewed, we ate, we shopped)!
We left Los Angeles bright and early Friday morning and rolled in to SF around two. One of my favorite places in the city is Kate and Paul’s house. I love staying with them! They’re so easy and hospitable. Unfortunately, they were out of town this weekend (camping in Big Sur), but we stayed at their house anyways! But, it wasn’t the same without them.
I had to work a teeny tiny bit, so we went straight to K&P’s place. We nestled in, unpacked, relaxed for a bit and started making our hosts their gifts. As a thank-you-for-letting-us-stay-at-your-house-while-you’re-out-of-town gift, we embroidered Kate and Paul some flour sack kitchen towels. (I should do a tutorial for them one day, they’re super easy, fun and great presents!)
We went for a little jog through the neighborhood, such a great way to get a quick feel for where you are. That night we went to dinner at Pizzeta 211, a tiny place just around the corner from K&P’s place.
On Saturday, Ramona, a dear friend, came into the city and we all hung out for the day. We went to a Korean Day Spa (my first time!), Imperial Spa. We soaked in the hot mineral waters and then got a crazy intense whole body scrub down.
After hanging out for a few hours naked and soaking in hot water, we headed over to Hayes Valley and did a little shopping and eating. We had a tasty snack at La Boulange de Hayes (super yummy). Bought some lingerie at Alla Prima. Then stopped in at Absinthe (a really weird place) for a little dinner, a little attitude and a few cocktails.
